డ్రైవింగ్ లైసెన్స్ - I

అమెరికా లో Driving License చాలా important అయినది. చాలా states లో IDP (International Driving Permit) తో కొంత కాలం drive చేయవచ్చు. ఎంత కాలం drive చేయవచ్చు అనేది state to state మారుతుంది. ఇక రెంటల్ కారు విషయానికి వస్తే most of the states లో IDP మీద car rent చేయవచ్చు.

కారు నేర్చుకొనే విధానం: ఇండియా నుండి వచ్చే టప్పుడు మనలో చాలా మంది హడావుడి గా car నేర్చుకొనే వస్తాం, అయినప్పటకి ఇక్కడ రూల్స్, తోలే విధానం చాలా వరకు విభిన్నంగా ఉంటుంది కాబట్టి ముందుగా 1-2 driving classes by training professional చాలా మంచిది. India లో మనకి బాగా car drive చేసిన experience ఉంటే, IDP తో rental car తీసుకొని, ఇక్కడ driving experience ఉన్నవారి guidance తో 1-2 రోజులు practice చేస్తే సరిపోతుంది.

Driving Classes: Classes తీసుకోవాలనుకొనేవారు వారి సిటి లో local గా train చేసేవారి వివరాలు websites ద్వారా సేకరించవచ్చు. మనం నేర్చుకొనగలిగే విధానాన్ని బట్టి number of classes లేదా full course తీసుకోవచ్చు. Number of classes తీసుకొవాలనుకొనేవారు సుమారు 40-50$ per hour వరకు pay చేయవలసి వస్తుంది, Full course తీసుకొవాలనుకొనేవారు సుమారు 300-600$ వరకు pay చేయవలసి వస్తుంది. Complete course తీసుకొనేవారికి వారే driving license కూడా ఏర్పాటు చేస్తారు.

Driver License apply చేయటానికి కావల్సిన Documents:

• SSN
• Personal Identification (Passport / Other Identification )
  
• Address Proof (Bank Statement)
• Legal Proof (I-94 & I-797)

Driving License Tests: ఇక driving license test కి ready అయినవారికి కొన్ని సూచనలు: There will be 4 different types of tests.

1) Vision Test: మన eyes ని test చేయటానికి ఒక చిన్న యంత్రాన్ని ఉపయోగిస్తారు, దాని ద్వారా మన site ఎలా ఉందో check చేస్తారు. Simple గా చెప్పాలంటే మన కళ్ళజోడు వేయించుకొనే ముందు మన eyes specialist check చేసినట్లు.
2) Written Test (Learner's Permit): ఈ Test ఇవ్వటానికి Driver's guide బాగా prepare అవ్వవలసి ఉంటుంది. మనకి దగ్గరలో ఉన్న DMV office లో Driver's guide - book దొరుకుతుంది లేదా Online లోమనకి soft copy కూడా దొరుకుతుంది. ఇక test విషయానికి వస్తే 1-2 sections ఉంటాయి, signals & driving. మొత్తం మీద test లో 80% (20 marks out of 25 questions) తెచ్చుకోవలసి ఉంటుంది. ఇక written test clear అయితే మనం Learner's Permit తీసుకోవచ్చు, card తీసుకోవాలి అనుకొంటే 15-20$ చెల్లించవలసి వస్తుంది. One month లో Road test కూడా ఇవ్వాలనుకొనేవారు Learner's Permit card తీసుకొనే అవసరం అంతగా లేదు.
3) Road Sign Test: Different signs చూపించి వాటి గురించి అడుగుతారు, ఈ Test కి ఒక చిన్న యంత్రాన్ని ఉపయోగిస్తారు. ee Test కొన్ని states లో ఉండదు.
4) Road Drive Test: 15-20 mins మనం car drive చేసి inspector కి చూపించవలసి ఉంటుంది. ఈ test కి Car మనమే ఏర్పాటు చేసుకోవలసి ఉంటుంది. Test ప్రారంభం అయ్యేముందే inspector మన Car ని మనతోనే check (Indicators, Horn, Breaks, Wipers, Lights...etc)చేయించటం జరుగుతుంది. Test ఆ DMV office చుట్టుప్రక్కలే జరుగుతుంది.
Test లో ముఖ్య ఘట్టాలు:

• Maintaining the speed.
  
• Following the road signs properly.
• Using signals where ever required.
  
• Observing the oncoming, Ongoing traffic.
• Immediate action when emergency vehicle comes.
  
• Parallel parking.
  
• Reversing the vehicle...etc
  

ఇక్కడ కూడా above 70% compulsory. ఇక అన్నీ సవ్యంగా జరిగి మనం Test clear చేస్తే again need to pay 15-20$ to get Driving license card.

Speeding - 3 points : వెళ్ళ వలసిన speed కంటె ఎక్కువ లేదా బాగా తక్కువ వెళ్ళినా...
Careless & Imprudent Driving - 4 points: సరిగా drive చేయనియడల.
Knowingly allowing an unlicensed driver to operate vehicle - 4 points: మన Car ని license లేనివారు drive చేస్తూ పట్టుబడితే...
A Felony involving a motor vehicle - 12 points: Crime involved vehicle
Obtaining a driver license by misrepresentation - 12 points: తప్పుడు సమాచారంతో License పొందటం.
Operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver license - 12 points: suspended అయిన License ని misuse చేయటం.
